A perspective shaped by both sides
Devin T. Jones founded Jones Criminal Defense after serving as an Assistant District Attorney for Louisiana’s Fourth Judicial District from 2011 to 2016. His 14-plus years of courtroom experience include dozens of jury trials and criminal appeals.
Preparation that informs the strategy
His background includes U.S. Department of Justice training in domestic violence trial strategy and training in arson detection and investigation. Today, he applies that experience to careful case evaluation and practical defense planning.
Education and public service
Devin earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and his Juris Doctor at Mississippi College School of Law. He is licensed in Louisiana and Texas.
He also serves as City Attorney for Bastrop and Town Attorney for Sterlington, and volunteers with the Northeast Louisiana Bar Foundation’s legal clinics.
Beyond the office
Devin and his wife, Jennifer McCarty, a grant consultant and former judicial assistant, have a blended family of three sons and three daughters. Family life includes dance, horseback riding, baseball, and plenty of activity.
